We are proud to be an accredited provider of Lyric, the world’s smallest hearing aid. Lyric is like no other device – it’s like a contact lens for your ears:
Hearing aids work best when there is sufficient residual hearing to work with. When hearing loss progresses past this point, however, we recommend investigating cochlear implantation, and arrange the necessary referrals.
All of them.
Customer Review

I was apprehensive in purchasing hearing aids until I found Ash at Hearing Consultants. He not only put me at ease but his manner and professionalism in advising me on the best aids for my hearing needs could not be faltered. I would not hesitate in recommending Ash at Hearing Consultants.
You may have hearing loss if you often ask people to repeat themselves, struggle to follow conversations in noisy places, turn up the TV or phone volume, or feel that others are mumbling. If these signs sound familiar, a professional hearing test with an audiologist is recommended.
No, you usually don’t need a referral for a hearing test. You can book directly with an audiologist for a full assessment. However, if results need to be shared with your GP or specialist for further care, the clinic can provide a detailed report after testing.
During a hearing test, a qualified audiologist will first ask about your hearing concerns and medical history. They will then examine your ears and conduct tests such as pure-tone audiometry, where you listen to beeps at different pitches and volumes through headphones, and speech tests, to measure how well you understand words in quiet and noisy settings. Results are recorded on an audiogram, showing your hearing levels across frequencies. The audiologist will explain the findings clearly, discuss whether you have normal hearing or hearing loss, and recommend next steps—such as monitoring, medical referral, or hearing solutions if needed.
Choosing the right hearing aid depends on your hearing needs, lifestyle, and comfort. An audiologist will assess your type and degree of hearing loss, then recommend suitable options. Consider factors like:
The best way is to trial hearing aids under professional guidance to find what feels comfortable and delivers clear, natural sound.
Most adults should have their hearing tested every 1–2 years, especially if they’re over 50 or exposed to loud noise. Children, or those with known hearing loss, may need more frequent checks. If you notice changes—such as difficulty following conversations or turning up the TV—schedule a test sooner.

Thank you Ash and John.Posted on missgenwhyTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I had a lovely experience at this clinic. I’ve had issues with ear wax build up ever since I was a child. So I’ve had a fair few ear wax removal experiences (some not worth mentioning). This was by far the most pleasant! Ash was professional and so gentle, I didn’t even flinch or cough. He used micro suction which I learned is the safest option. I’m so glad I found this service - I will be returning for future ear cleans.Posted on Ashok KTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I’ve been wearing hearing aids for over 20 years. I have followed Ash as he moved from location to location, to his new independent practice on Burke Rd. Yesterday I was fitted with brand new Widex Allure hearing aids, which are not widely available in Australia. I have to say they are a revelation compared to my old devices. I’ve never heard better in my local noisy cafe than I did this morning - for the first time in a long time, I didn’t feel like I was wearing hearing aids at all. As I have come to realise with time, the best hearing aids are nothing without the best audiologist to get the most out of them. The difference between a good audiologist and a great one has a profound effect on real-world performance. Ash has always been the consummate professional who always takes the time to listen, understand and help no matter what. His passion for his craft really comes through, and I have referred many friends to him over the years. Best of luck Ash with your new clinic!Posted on Su GTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I’ve been wearing hearing aids for over a decade. Previously I would have to be without them for 2-3 weeks while they went interstate for servicing or for replacement of rechargeable batteries. They have been playing up recently so I thought I’ll try this new clinic. Maha at reception was fantastic - one of the aids needed a new rechargeable battery which she was able to replace on the spot! The other was completely dead and within 10min she brought it back to life. She was friendly, patient and clearly very experienced. And all of this was done free of charge under warranty while I enjoyed a complimentary cup of tea. When a clinical practice is on top of their game it’s immediately obvious - I’m so glad to have found them.Posted on Susan WilliamsTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. After being pestered with incessant phone calls from my previous provider, I was told my 3yo hearing aids were no longer useful. I was then given the ‘hard sell’ for their own brand of hearing aids - I couldn’t find any info about these online. My good friend recommended I go and see Ash for a second opinion. He serviced and recalibrated my hearing aids, and now they sound like new again. I found him to be refreshingly honest, patient, caring and very experienced & knowledgeable. He also suctioned lots of ear wax which improved the sound even further. My friend enlightened me that most hearing aid clinics are owned by offshore hearing aid manufacturers. I would much rather support a locally owned independent practice like Hearing Consultants. If you are seeking high quality, ethical care, I cannot recommend Ash highly enough.Google rating score: 5.0 of 5, based on 5 reviews
