“I highly recommend Hearing Consultants Camberwell. Unlike corporate-owned chains, they are an independent practice, and it makes all the difference. This means their focus is on providing the best possible care for their patients, not on meeting sales quotas or upselling products.Ash is a genuine professional. He is trustworthy and takes the time to listen and understand your specific needs. He then works to find a solution that’s right for you. It’s refreshing to receive such honest and personalised care. I couldn’t be happier with the experience and the results.”

WHAT MAKES US DIFFERENT
- We are an Australian-owned independent practice, not a multinational corporate. This means longer appointments and more personalised care.
- You will always see a university-qualified Audiologist, each with over 20 years of experience.
- True independence: unlike most audiology providers, we are not owned by a hearing aid manufacturer. We are not locked into exclusive supply agreements which block access to alternative technologies. Instead, we are free to choose the best possible devices that suit individual patient needs. And our pricing is identical across all hearing aid brands for neutrality. Audiology without compromise.
- Full transparency – we don’t hide behind white labelling of hearing devices.
- Our audiologists do not receive any bonuses or commissions.
- Domes, filters & tubes are free for the life of the hearing aids.
- Our boutique approach affords us exclusive access to hearing aid technology before its wider release, sometimes 12 months earlier.
- We also offer permanent wear hearing aids that are 100% invisible and, for tinnitus suffers, provide 24/7 relief.
- Laboratory-grade hearing aid servicing is available on the spot, which can avoid the inconvenience of being without your aids for weeks at a time while they are away for repairs.
- We are here for the local community – you will always speak to someone in the clinic, not a call centre.
- Most of all, we pride ourselves on honesty, ethical conduct, and putting the patient at the centre of every decision. These are not just words; they define who we are and what we stand for.
AUDIOLOGIST vs AUDIOMETRIST: what’s the difference?
AUDIOLOGY
The Master of Clinical Audiology university degree is the minimum requirement to practise audiology in Australia. This means it takes a minimum of 5 years of tertiary education, followed by 12 months as a supervised intern. It is offered by six universities in Australia, including the University of Melbourne. Audiologists work closely with Ear, Nose and Throat surgeons, paediatricians, GPs and speech pathologists.
AUDIOMETRY
Audiometry is a Certificate/Diploma offered by a range of TAFE providers and private institutions. The completion of secondary school (Year 12) is not necessarily a requirement for admission.
There is a significant difference in the breadth and depth of clinical training and knowledge.
